Paul Okoye of the Nigerian music duo Psquare has revealed why he and his twin brother, Peter Okoye, were estranged and at odds for six years.

Paul and his twin brother, Peter, split up in 2017. The separation was said to have resulted from a disagreement over the role of their older brother, Jude Okoye, as manager.

They ended their nearly six-year feud in November 2021 and held their first headline concert later that December.

In June, Paul revealed that the Psquare split was caused by a family-related issue and not music.

“I never said anything, because I knew what the problems were. It was a family issue, and it turned out that Psquare had to pay for it. Psquare was just the sacrifice.

It was a family issue, it had nothing to do with music. And because I respect family so much, I owe nobody any explanation.” He said

In a recent red carpet interview video, Paul was asked about the reason for the split, and his response was that “the devil” was to blame.

He said “We’re back for good hundred percent in fact we don shame the devil,”

In March of last year, Peter blamed the breakup on fans’ constant comparisons of who is better between the duo.

The twins have released two singles since their reconciliation: “Jaiye (Ihe Geme)” and “Find Somebody.”
