The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria urged its members to put more effort into achieving the Sustainable Development Goals as well as maintain their shared course of action.

Chairman of the PSN Kwara in Ilorin, Mr. Adejuwon Otelja, speaking over the weekend, noted that “Pharmacy United in Action for a Healthier World” is the theme for this year’s World Pharmacists Day and it aims to commemorate and recognize the contribution of pharmacists to enhancing global health.

He claims that the day is also intended to support and encourage initiatives that advance global healthcare, stating that as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the SDGs were created and adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015.

Otelaja emphasized that it serves as a model for global health while acknowledging the importance of any link between addressing issues with climate change, education, inequality, and economic growth and how these issues relate to problems with improving health.

He continued by saying that pharmacists are well known for helping patients make the most of their medications and for teaching them how to take their medications so that they can feel better quickly.

He emphasized that observing the day is also a step toward appreciating these workers’ efforts and pressing for improvements to their working conditions and amenities.

The PSN chairman explained that the society would introduce a unique e-FB frame as part of the celebrations for the day. He claims that the society will go to the School for Special Needs to make donations of items like food, medicine, personal care products, and educational materials.
