The Peoples Democratic Party has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to use the rest of his presidency to ensure and guarantee peaceful, free, fair, and credible general elections in 2023.
The charge was given by the PDP as it congratulated Nigerians and wished them a happy independence anniversary.
In a statement signed by the party’s spokesperson, Honourable Debo Ologunagba, the party said it was mindful of Nigerians’ trust in the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in their mission to rescue, rebuild, and redirect the country and return it to the path of peace, national cohesion, and economic prosperity.
Ologunagba stated that Nigerians should not lose hope in the country, claiming that the All Progressives Congress’ corrupt and anti-people rule would soon come to an end.
The statement also stated that the APC administration’s poor and uncoordinated fiscal and economic policies had resulted in life-changing experiences such as hyperinflation, increased unemployment, currency collapse, and economic meltdown.
