Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has stated that the Peoples Democracy Party would not be at peace till Senator Iyorcha Ayu resigns as the party’s national chairman.
He pledged not to back down from his request for Ayu’s resignation, claiming that nowhere in the party’s constitution does the president and chairman originate from the same zone.
Wike said this during a live media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, on Friday.
He, on the other hand, stated that the PDP was not divided, but that some refused to do the right thing.
He went on to say that integrity is very important, pointing out that the PDP presidential candidate met with him one-on-one and made commitments to him (Wike), but he refuses to keep his word.
