Under the umbrella of the Jemgbagh Youths group, Ayu’s kinsmen claimed Atiku must recant his remark profiling the governor and victims of herdsmen attacks if he wants their votes in the 2023 general elections.
Terngu Ikyernun, the coalition’s head, stated that while the group wants the PDP to win the election, it would not allow Atiku’s statement characterizing Ortom, therefore the need for him to publicly apologize if he values their votes in 2023.
When Ortom met with the group who came on a solidarity march to the Government House, he expressed his disappointment and wondered why a presidential contender would rush to protect a segment of society against others who are victims of violent acts.
He stated that, though Atiku has spoken to him in private, he must publicly retract his statement profiling him.
