Dr. Sampson Orji of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State has encouraged the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, to step aside for incumbent senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance because he (Ikpeazu) cannot beat the senator.
Orji, a former commissioner for Trade and Commerce, told Governor Ikpeazu, the PDP’s candidate for the Abia South Senate District, on a live radio show, “Open Parliament,” broadcast in Umuahia, that Abaribe had proven to be the most qualified for the red chamber.
Orji stated that if he had to pick between Governor Ikpeazu and Senator Abaribe, he would “vote for Abaribe over Ikpeazu” because it is “as if one is asked to choose between “experience and lack of experience.”
Orji stated that he will rally support for Obi not because he is a fellow Igbo, but because of his predecessors.
