Osborne Umahi, first son of Minister of Works and former Ebonyi State Governor Engr. David Umahi, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form to contest the chairmanship of Ohaozara Local Government Area ahead of the August 2026 council elections.

Osborne, who currently manages his father’s business interests, collected the form at the APC State Secretariat in Abakaliki, accompanied by party stakeholders, youth groups, and supporters from Ohaozara. He was received by members of the APC state executive committee, led by State Chairman Stanley Okoro-Emegha.

Okoro-Emegha described Osborne as a capable young politician and businessman, expressing confidence in his ability to lead Ohaozara and drive development in the area.

In his remarks, Osborne thanked the people of Ohaozara for their support and pledged to serve diligently, fairly, and without fear or favour if elected. He emphasized youth empowerment as a key priority, noting his understanding of the challenges facing young people in the local government.

“My administration will focus on youth empowerment and the introduction of innovative programmes to create opportunities for our young people,” he said.

He also pledged to continue the legacy of his father in infrastructure development, promising that his administration would implement projects with positive impacts across Ohaozara Local Government Area.

The Ohaozara chairmanship election is scheduled to hold in August 2026.
