Southeast governors yesterday voiced their support for a political approach to releasing detained Indigenous Peoples of Biafra leader Nnamdi Kanu.
Southeast governors said they were watching the situation after meeting at the Government House in Enugu, Enugu State.
Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum and Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, who read the statement to media, said they were closely monitoring developments in the Nnamdi Kanu case in light of the court orders.
Umahi revealed that the governors, who were likewise concerned about the region’s worrisome degree of insecurity, decided to establish a 24-hour patrol unit on all main highways in the zone.
