Popular skit maker Abdulgafar Ahmad, better known as Cute Abiola, has resigned from the Navy.
After being appointed Special Assistant on Creative Industries by Kwara Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, he made the announcement via his verified social media handles.
According to the 26-year-old comic actor, the resignation was necessary for him to pursue his dream.
He mentioned how grateful he was to the Navy for instilling in him moral values and work ethics, among other things.
He wrote: “With profound gratitude, I deeply appreciate the Nigerian Navy for giving me the uncommon opportunity to imbibe discipline through a regimented procedure in the areas of career development, moral values, work ethics, to mention but a few. I can dauntlessly say (sic) that, I have the required intelligence and human development finesse to continue to live a prosperous life.
Cute Abiola was arrested and detained by Navy authorities on November 15, 2021, for wearing a police uniform in one of his skits and mocking the police force, in violation of the Armed Forces social media policy.
