NAPTIP: Nursing Mom Arrested For Brutalizing Step-Daughter

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) arrested a nursing mother in Maryland, Enugu State, for severely brutalizing her stepdaughter.

The suspect, who was said to have a habit of beating the minor, was apprehended on Saturday, October 8, after a concerned citizen noticed the child covered in bruises and notified NAPTIP.

According to the child, her stepmother whipped her with an electric wire because she was instructed to purchase an energy unit of 4015 but instead purchased a unit of 4500, returning N500 instead of N985.

The child had a cut on her head and several bruises all over her body.

According to reports, the father of the child was also physically abused by his wife.was also being physically abused by his wife.

“We got to their house and I met her father, he started telling me how the wife is abusing the daughter and each time he try to defend her, his wife doesn’t hesitate to hit him as well,” the concerned citizen explained.
