Chief Charles Ahize, a Labour Party (LP) chieftain and senatorial candidate for Imo West, has asked the Federal Government to heed the Court of Appeal’s decision to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
He said that the release of the IPOB leader will dispel any questions about the Federal Government’s commitment to peace and stability in the Southeast.
He urged the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, to advise President Muhammadu Buhari accordingly, in accordance with the law, to guarantee Mr. Nnamdi Kanu’s immediate and unconditional release.
The businessman also denied claims that the arrival of Nnamdi Kanu will undermine Peter Obi’s popularity in the 2023 election, calling it a “baseless conspiracy theory.”
