Ademola Adesina, 23, and two of his friends were arrested by Lagos Police Command operatives, Saturday September 24th, following the death of their friend, Michael Arigbabuwo, 21, at a party.
Arigbabuwo was thought to have died as a result of complications from an alleged illicit drug overdose.
Abdulqudus Salawiudeen, 24, and Damilare Adelana, 23, both from Ikorodu, were also arrested with Adesina.
It was reported that Michael and friends had been partying in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, on Friday night when Arigbabuwo collapsed. He was accused of mixing and consuming two illegal drugs, Loud and Codeine, shortly before gasping for air.
His friends rushed him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and later moved his body to the Fawole neighborhood of Bayeku that night, a move which sparked suspicion among residents, who alerted the police.
According to reports, detectives from Ikorodu’s Igbogbo Division stormed the scene, found the body, and then detained the three suspects.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, responded to the incident on his verified Twitter page, it reads;
“At a birthday party, Friday September 23rd, a 21-year-old male, mixed two hard drugs for maximum effect, and shortly after started to gasp. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he passed away.”
“The investigation has started. Consider using drugs. Rethink it because nothing positive comes from it.”
