Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has restated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) G-5 governors will only be open to reconciliation if it is founded on equality, fairness, and justice.
Wike stated that despite knowing the humiliation Obi endured before leaving the PDP for the Labour Party, he will not abandon the party but rather chase out those he refers to as “armed robbers.”
The Rivers State governor made the claim on Thursday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, at the inauguration of the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover.
Governor Wike emphasised how, previous to the crisis gripping the PDP, certain members of the party were applauding him and his G-5 colleagues’. However, he pointed out that the same individuals have turned around and called them names because they are demanding equity, fairness, and justice.
For months, Wike and four other governors in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have sought the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu as PDP national chairman as a condition for supporting the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
