Property worth millions of naira was destroyed after a fire broke out at the POWA Plaza on Jos Road in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

According to an eyewitness, the fire was started by an electrical spark in one of the shops around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8th.

He claimed that the fire destroyed most of the properties in the Nigeria Police Force building before Nasarawa State Fire Service officials arrived to put it out.

“The fire started around 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning,” he said. It destroyed properties worth millions of naira before the fire department arrived.

“They were still unable to completely extinguish the fire until 7 a.m. this morning, when they dispatched additional fire fighters to the scene.”

“More than seven stores were impacted.” A tailoring shop, a boutique, a solar shop, and other large businesses were destroyed by fire.

“I’m curious how the business owners will survive after such a massive loss.” The government should look into ways to assist them in getting out of this situation.”
