JUST IN: Kogi Monarch Dies At 80

Muhammed Nalado, secretary of the Lokoja traditional rulers council, has announced the death of the Maigari, Dr Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III.

According to a statement issued late Wednesday, September 28, the 80-year-old Maigari died on Wednesday evening in a private hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.

He was one of Kogi State’s longest-serving traditional rulers, having ascended the throne in 1992.

According to the statement, the late royal father will be buried on Thursday, September 29 at 4 p.m. in Lokoja.
