The Kogi State Government has announced that an inquiry into the cause of the fire that destroyed the state Assembly building has begun.
According to reports, the fire that burned the Assembly complex in Crusher Area, Lokoja, on Monday morning broke through the roof of the chamber, inflicting major damage to the House floor.
In a statement, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said specialists were now attempting to determine the cause.
The government further urged the general public to be calm, law-abiding and resist the temptation of being lawless.
