A fire broke out early this morning, October 10, at the Kogi State House of Assembly complex in Crusher Area, Lokoja.
The fire ripped through the chamber’s roof, causing extensive damage to the house’s floor.
The House Speaker, Mathew Kolawole, and the state security adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara, were among the first people to arrive at the assembly complex.
No one has been able to determine the cause of the fire as of the time of filing this report.
The Speaker of the Assembly stated that he suspected sabotage but did not specify where the suspected sabotage originated.
When asked if it was related to the recent events involving the Assembly and the Dangote group, he said it was up to security to determine.
Details soon.
