Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, has awarded state pardons to 153 convicts guilty of various crimes.
Mohammed stated that his decision to issue the pardon was informed by the state’s committee on prerogative’s comprehensive study of their record, which determined that they would still be valuable to themselves and society.
On Friday, he awarded them pardon in a short ceremony at the New Government House Annex.
