Mr. Sogo Emmanuel Ogunmola, a farm manager in Pampo Village in the Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, has alerted authorities to ongoing threats made against him by the kidnappers who kidnapped him before being freed by the team of security agencies.
Ogunmola pleaded with the security services to save him in a press release issued in Ilorin on Monday, October 3rd so that he wouldn’t be abducted again.
He said that since being freed from the kidnappers’ den, he has received numerous calls threatening his life and the lives of his family, threatening to kidnap them once more.
In the statement, he said, “I’m calling on combined security agencies to protect my life and that of my family in order to ensure that we are not kidnapped again.
On Friday, June 24, 2022, gunmen abducted him in Pampo Village in the state’s Asa Local Government Area and demanded N20 million in ransom from his family before releasing him.
When the gunmen stormed the farm, the victim and 10 other farm workers were reportedly working there.
It was gathered that the gunmen entered the farm and shot randomly into the air before kidnapping the victims.
According to sources close to the village, the kidnappers are believed to have taken eight hostages, with the other two allegedly making their way into the nearby bush.
They went on to say that the incident was not the first of its kind because many of the women in the village had been raped on their farms and that the kidnappers had been terrorizing some of them.
Further research revealed that many local women had died prematurely as a result of the vile development in the village.
Security agencies have commenced search for the kidnappers within and beyond the community.
