GUNMEN: Ex-Akeredolu’s Aide Abducted, N100m Ransom Demanded

Mr. Richard Omosehin, a former Senior Special Assistant to the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, was abducted yesterday, November 21st according to the Ondo State Police Command.

According to reports, the former governor’s aide was kidnapped last Saturday at his residence in Igbekebo, the headquarters of the state’s Ese Odo Local Government Area.

According to a source who preferred anonymity, the gunmen arrived in the community on a speed boat and went to the victim’s private house, where he was dragged into the boat and sped away.

“The incident occurred around 2 a.m. last Saturday, November 19th, ” the source said. The people immediately summoned the police, but by the time the cops arrived, the kidnappers had taken the man (victim) away.”

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), stated that efforts were being made to free the victim unharmed while an investigation into the matter was underway.

“We are already attempting to rescue the victim, and an investigation has begun,” said the PPRO.

In addition, the monarch of Igbekebo town, Oba Simon Dabo, who confirmed the incident, revealed that the victim was allowed to call his wife from captivity and had demanded N100 million in exchange for his release.
