According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Niger, 21 people were injured in an auto accident on the Bida-Minna road on Sunday, October 23rd.
The Sector Commander, Mr Kumar Tsukwam, confirmed on Monday that the accident happened around 9:25 a.m. near Sabon Gida village in Bida Local Government Area.
He stated that the accident involved a Toyota Bus with the license plate NSR 540 ZG and an unregistered Range Rover.
According to him, twenty-one people were involved in the accident, and all of them were injured in various ways.
He stated that 14 of the injured were transported to the Federal Medical Centre Bida, while the remaining seven were airlifted to the Umaru Sanda General Hospital in Bida for treatment.
According to the sector commander, the accident occurred when one of the Toyota bus’s tyres failed and the vehicle collided with an oncoming Range Rover.
To avoid crashes, he advised motorists to exercise caution, thoroughly inspect their vehicles before putting them on the road, and strictly adhere to speed limits.
