A major opportunity presents itself for other strikers within the Super Eagles team, to stake their claim for a starting spot as the Eagles’ leading man, however, with a blazing record of six goals in eight League 1 games, this season, Moffi is the most fit Nigerian striker, and is the top candidate to spearhead the Eagles’ attack in the team.

With Victor Osimhen and Umar Sadiq both out of the Super Eagles squad, fans are waiting to see who fills the void left by the injured duo, when the Eagles face-off the Algerian Desert Foxes on Tuesday in Oran.

The Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro who prefers a two-man front line, invited 10 forwards for the friendly game, with five fit to play in the centre of the forward line.

On the list were players like, Kelechi Iheanacho, Terem Moffi, Cyriel Dessers, Taiwo Awoniyi, Henry Onyekuru, and Emmanuel Dennis, although Emmanuel Dennis and Henry Onyekuru were ruled out due to sustained injury.

Following the camp set up in Constantine, Moffi, who scored twice against Sao Tome in June, has been impressive in every training.

George Finidi, assistant coach for the Eagles, urged the 23-year-old to take the opportunity to play with the first squad.
