Namadi Abubakar, the Bauchi State NYSC Coordinator, said on Thursday that four members of the 2021 Batch C stream 1 would repeat their service year in the state.
Abubakar stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi, where corps members were collecting their discharge certificates.
He stated that the impacted corps members were sanctioned for a variety of offenses during their service year, including abscondment and absenteeism.
Abubakar stressed that the program has zero tolerance for truancy and that any erring corps member will be punished.
He stated that 27 others’ service years would be extended for at least three weeks due to various misconducts during their service year.
According to him, five of the 1,151 corps members who graduated will get the state honor award for their remarkable contribution to raising the living standards of their host towns.
He went on to say that, in keeping with the scheme’s purpose of contributing to the country’s development, the scheme dispatched a large number of corps medical people to Bauchi state’s rural districts.
He stated that the corps medical personnel aided thousands of individuals in rural villages around the state under the scheme’s Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD).
