The Secretary of the Eko Tourism Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Tunde Lawrenson, has commended Eko Hotels and Suites for its consistent efforts in promoting Nigerian culture and tourism through its annual Tropical Christmas Wonderland celebration.
Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, for the unveiling of the Tropical Christmas Wonderland – Kingdom of Lights Edition 2025, Lawrenson described the hotel as the “African Disneyland.”
“Eko Hotel has gradually become the Disneyland — the African Disneyland. This is our original African Disneyland. This is us. This is who we are,” he said.
He applauded Eko Hotels for reviving national pride and cultural appreciation, noting that initiatives like the Tropical Christmas Wonderland highlight Nigeria’s creativity and heritage.
“We briefly lost our identity, but now we know who we are. We are Nigerians. We are Lagosians. And thank you very much, Eko Hotels, for bringing this recognition back to us,” Lawrenson added.
Reflecting on the scale of this year’s event, Lawrenson, who attended the 2024 edition, said the 2025 edition is “much bigger and more captivating.”
“I was here last year, and from the look of things, it’s several times bigger. I have goosebumps all over me. I know it’s going to be wonderful, and everybody should be here,” he said excitedly.
The Kingdom of Lights Edition 2025 promises an enchanting blend of art, entertainment, and culture for families and visitors, reinforcing Eko Hotels and Suites’ reputation as a leading hub for creativity and festive innovation in Nigeria.
