EFCC: Four Fraudsters Jailed 15 Years In Kaduna

Three internet fraudsters and one cash counterfeiter were convicted and sentenced to fifteen (15) years in jail by Justice A.A Bello of the Kaduna State High Court.

They were imprisoned on Thursday, September 29, 2022, after pleading guilty to separate count charges during their arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Kaduna Zonal Command. The four fraudsters are Alade Olalekan Hezekiah, Joseph Truman, Ashei Bobai Bartholomew, and Aliyu Adamu.

Three of the convicts, Hezekiah, Truman, and Bartholomew, were arrested for internet-related offenses, while Aliyu was apprehended by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for having fake dollars printing paper and 1000 counterfeit Naira notes worth N 873,000. He was turned over to the EFCC to be investigated and prosecuted further.

They were all charged and imprisoned.

Alade Olalekan Hezekiah was sentenced to five years imprisonment for impersonating a military personnel from the United States of America “Jason Howard” and defrauding a certain Sophia Johnson of gift cards worth $1300.

Truman was sentenced to six months in prison or a N150,000.00 fine.

Justice Bello found Bartholomew guilty and sentenced him to five years in prison with the option of a N100,000 fine.

While Aliyu Adamu was convicted of currency counterfeiting and sentenced to five years imprisonment or pay a fine of N 150,000.
