The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has urged Corps Members throughout the nation to utilize the government’s whistle-blowing policy and bring attention to corrupt activities taking place in their primary assignment locations.

The Kano Zonal Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Farouq Dogondaj, gave the charge in Dutse, Jigawa State on Thursday, September 22, 2022, while addressing members of the EFCC/Community Development Service group of the NYSC.

He believes that moving the country forward is only possible if corps members collaborate with other interest groups to expose cases of economic and financial crime in their communities.

Dogondaji, speaking through the Command’s Head of Public Affairs, Idris Isiyaku, urged corps members to see themselves as critical stakeholders in the fight against economic crime and to avoid any internet-related offenses.

“The EFCC is calling on you to take advantage of the whistle blower policy of the government, by reporting any questionable practice wherever you find yourself. Being a mere spectator and lamenting that things are not done rightly, will not help the country. You must wake up and take ownership of the fight against corruption in order to salvage the nation from the yoke of stagnation.”

The fight against corruption cannot be left in the hands of law enforcement agencies alone, all stakeholders must key into the crusade and fight it to the barest minimum.

The EFCC has realized that youths who are regarded as leaders of tomorrow, are the ones engaged in cyber fraud. This should no longer continue,” he said.
