Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, began their 2025 FIBA AfroBasket journey in style, defeating Madagascar 77–59 in their opening Group fixture.
Led by a strong offensive showing, Caleb Agada topped the scoring chart with 22 points, while Stan Okoye (13), Ike Nwamu (12), and Kaodirichi Akobundu (10) combined to contribute a total of 57 points for the team.
The Nigerians dominated both ends of the court, maintaining a steady lead throughout the match and keeping Madagascar’s offense in check.
D’Tigers will look to build on this impressive start when they face Tunisia in their next group game on Friday.
