Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has officially launched his highly anticipated 5ive Alive Tour with a sold-out concert at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
According to New Telegraph, the event drew an estimated crowd of 30,000 fans, making it one of the biggest live music concerts in Nigeria this year.
The award-winning singer and DMW boss delivered a thrilling performance that blended nostalgia, energy, and showmanship. From his early hits such as Dami Duro and Aye to newer songs like With You, Davido kept the audience on their feet throughout the night.
The concert featured an impressive production setup with fireworks, laser lighting, and a grand stage design that transformed the stadium into a vibrant musical arena.
Davido’s arrival in Uyo was marked by a presidential-style welcome, as he was received by a brass band and local dignitaries before paying a courtesy visit to Senate President and former Akwa Ibom Governor, Godswill Akpabio.
Adding to the night’s highlights, popular TikTok influencer Ivana—known for her open admiration of fellow Afrobeats star Wizkid—opened the show, a move that initially sparked debate among fans but later received applause for promoting unity and inclusion in the Nigerian music scene.
The atmosphere at the stadium was electric as fans waved their phone lights and sang along to every song. Expressing his gratitude, Davido shouted, “Uyo, you made history tonight!” to loud cheers from the crowd.
The Uyo concert marks the first stop of Davido’s 5ive Alive Tour in Nigeria, with subsequent performances scheduled for Adamawa, Enugu, Ibadan, and Lagos in the coming weeks.
