The Dangote Group has expressed sadness over the death of Ruth Otabo, who was involved in a road accident with one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, August 31, 2025, the company extended condolences to Ruth’s family, friends, and loved ones, describing her passing as a painful loss.
“On behalf of the entire Dangote Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time,” the statement read.
The company disclosed that since the accident, its officials and insurance partners had provided medical and financial support to Ruth and her family. It noted that arrangements had been made to fly her to India for further treatment before her death.
“Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today,” it added.
Dangote Group stressed that safety, accountability, and compassion remain at the core of its operations and pledged to strengthen its systems to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
“We remain committed to supporting those affected in moments of tragedy. May God grant her mercy and eternal rest,” the management stated.
