CRIME: Ooni’s Ex-In-Iaw Charged With Alleged Forgery

Mr. Ogunseyi Akinfolarin, a former in-law of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has been charged with forgery and illegal conversion of N26m in an Akure Magistrate Court.

Akinfolarin, who pleaded not guilty, was charged with three counts of forgery and unlawful conversion of money.

According to the Prosecution, the crime was committed in September 2019.

Akinfokarin was accused of forging the Atibiti Faaye Family’s receipt for the acquisition of 32 plots of land.

DSP Osoobu Itunu, Prosecuting Counsel, stated that the case was ready to be opened because all witnesses were prepared to testify.

Justice Yemi Fasanmi, the presiding judge, adjourned the case to January 9, 2023, when the trial will begin.
