Ijeoma Nneke, one of two siblings accused of murdering a makeup artist, has been released by an Enugu State High Court.
Chiamaka Ifezue and Chukwuemeka Ifezue are on trial for allegedly coercing the dead to ingest a poison that resulted in her passing away in November 2020.
The suspects allegedly dumped her body near Enugu’s Maryland axis and poured a corrosive substance, possibly acid, on the corpse.
Chukwuemeka was exonerated by the trial judge, Justice K.I. Okpe, on the grounds that there was no proof he had actually assisted in the commission of the crime.
A court document sighted on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, showed that Chukwuemeka Ifezue was discharged from the crime on July 28, 2022.
