Biodun Oyebanji has been sworn in as Ekiti State’s sixth democratically elected governor. Oyebanji was sworn in alongside his Deputy Chief Monisade Afuye at Ekiti Parapo Pavillon.
Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, Chief Judge of Ekiti, officiated at the event.
At 12:52 p.m., Oyebanji took the oath of office and loyalty before the Chief Judge in front of a large crowd at the event’s site.
He also signed the necessary paperwork establishing him as Ekiti State’s seventh governor.
At 12:42 p.m., Afuye also took the oath of office and loyalty before the Chief Judge and then signed the requisite paperwork establishing him as the State’s second citizen.
