Barcelona are currently unable to register Marcus Rashford or any of their new summer signings due to LaLiga’s stringent financial regulations.
The reigning Spanish champions have reportedly exceeded their permitted spending limits, having spent more on transfers and wages than they have generated in revenue for the 2024/25 season.
Under LaLiga’s financial fair play rules, clubs must operate within their income levels. As a result, Barcelona must either sell players, reduce their wage bill, or find new revenue streams in order to register incoming signings.
The club has until the end of August to resolve the issue.
Despite these ongoing financial challenges, Barcelona remain optimistic that Rashford and the other new additions will be registered in time for the start of the season. The Catalan giants have managed to overcome similar obstacles in previous years.
