The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, in a Twitter post, expressed sympathy for ASUU on Wednesday, September 21, because the previous day’s protests had interfered with his flight to a scheduled strategy meeting with his team.
He stated in his post “I was unable to travel to Abuja due to my sympathies for ASUU and the strike that has prevented our kids from attending school for the past seven months. We must reassert or resolve to ensure that there is a leadership change in Nigeria by 2023 in light of the ASUU strike and the numerous other issues the country is currently facing. Despite being significantly smaller than the other major parties, the Labour Party is now responsible for saving Nigeria.”
He continued, saying
“I will give that mission everything I have. I implore you to do everything in your power “both individually and collectively” to win the general elections of 2023 by making all necessary sacrifices. We are currently a single family as the LP, and we will continue to be so both during the election campaign and after. You can rest assured that nobody will be forgotten.”
He received some supportive comments after publishing his article, but at the same time, he was defamed by Twitter trolls. The trolls made fun of his claims, mocked him, and even mocked his intelligence.
But for each assault endured He was protected by “THE OBEDIENT Ones”.
