Mr. Sunday Faleye, the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, has questioned Matthew Ajayi, the Divisional Crime Officer of Ode-Omu Police Division, who is accused of torturing a female inspector, Bamidele Olorunsogo.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, Olorunsogo could be seen in a social media video displaying the injuries she sustained on her chest and hands.

She claimed that Ajayi tortured her for refusing his sexual advances.

“He then began beating me to the point of nakedness.” Look at my hands and chest, which are all injured. He invited me out and suggested that I befriend him. I explained that I am a married woman who cannot befriend him. “He began blackmailing me,” she added.

According to the cop, other officers witnessed the incident, and the DCO also picked up a gun and threatened to shoot her.

“They tried to kick me out of the office, but I said no, if he wants to kill me, he should kill me,” she explained.

Yemisi Opalola, the Osun Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the CP had directed the Ikire Area Commander to take over the case and report back to him, and that the investigation would be completed within two days.

“As soon as we heard about it, the CP told the Divisional Police Officer to bring them, and he personally interviewed them before directing the Ikire Area Commander to take over the investigation,” she explained.

“The investigation will be completed between today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday).”

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, assured the public that justice would be served in the case.

“We will wait for the investigation report from the Osun State Police Command before taking any action,” he said. However, we assure the general public that justice will be served in the case in order to protect the NPF’s core values and ethics.”
