Assailants stormed Dan Jamfari Community, Barbaji village, in Kano State’s Rogo Local Government Area and set fire to ten houses.

Dr. Saleh Jili, Executive Secretary of Kano State Emergency Management Agency, said on Friday, October 28th that the agency sympathized with victims and delivered relief supplies to them.

He stated that the state government would go to any length to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The victims were given ten bundles of roofing sheets, twenty bags of cement, ten packs of zinc nails, twenty bags of 10kg rice, twenty bags of maize, and five bags of salt.

Clothing, cutlery, buckets of vegetable oil, and five cartons of seasoning cubes were also distributed to the victims.

Jili reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property, and urged residents to live in peace and harmony.

Malam Magaji Audu, a resident, said the attackers were armed with sticks and cutlasses.

“More than 200 of them stormed the village in the middle of the night, claiming to be looking for their stolen motorcycle,” Audu explained.

When he refused to produce his children, whom the hoodlums accused of stealing their motorcycle, he said the attackers tried to stab him in front of his family.

Audu explained that the assailants returned the next day and set fire to his house and others, while his family members escaped.

“The hoodlums stole food, chickens, turkeys, farming equipment, and destroyed ten houses in the village,” he said.

Alhaji Muhammad Maharazu, the district head of Rogo, confirmed the incident and thanked the emergency management agency for the generous donation of relief materials.

According to Maharazu, who was represented by his secretary Alhaji Bashir Tsoho, the Emir of Karaye, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II, provided all necessary assistance to the victims and reported the incident to the state government.
