Apostle Johnson Suleman, President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, has condemned the police for executing the detained key suspect involved in the violent attack on his convoy, which resulted in the deaths of three police officers, two drivers, and two others.
According to Nwafo Live, the preacher had returned from a foreign vacation and was on his way to a location in the state when gunmen assaulted his convoy along the Benin-Auchi Road in Edo State.
Chidi Nwabuzor, the state Police Public Relations Officer, who verified the incident, claimed six people were killed, including police officers and Suleman’s drivers, and that attempts were on to find the cleric’s domestic helper.
A 44 second video footage of the dead suspect’s corpse in a car was trending online.
A police officer can be heard in the video characterizing the murdered suspect as a kidnapper.
In a tweet in response to the video, Suleman decried the execution of the suspect who was given over to police alive, suggesting that it was an attempt to cover up traces that may lead to those responsible for the crime.
