Alexander Isak has returned to Newcastle after spending time at a personal training camp in Spain.
The Swedish striker arrived at Newcastle Airport on Saturday afternoon, just a day after the club turned down a £110 million bid—plus add-ons—from Liverpool.
Isak had opted out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia, citing a thigh injury. Instead, he traveled to San Sebastian to continue his recovery with his personal team at Real Sociedad’s facilities.
Despite Liverpool’s growing interest, Newcastle remain firm on their stance and have placed a £150 million valuation on the 24-year-old forward.
However, the Magpies are preparing for all possibilities, having submitted a £70 million offer for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško as a potential replacement.
Newcastle are also monitoring Brentford forward Yoane Wissa as they consider strengthening their attacking options.
The squad is expected to regroup for training on Monday at the club’s base, following their return from the Asia tour.
