AFRO AWARDS: Osun Govt. Elect, Davido, Others Honoured

Senator Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, his nephew and singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and legendary African drummer Chief Tajudeen Amoo-Adeleke are among the Africans and Americans who will be honored at the Afro Award 2022 in Los Angeles, California.

Mr. Taiwo Oduala, Founder and Executive Producer of Afro Awards, stated this in a statement.

The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Maada, the Founder and CEO of the Pan-African Film Festival, Ayuko Babu, and renowned Nigerian journalist, Seye Kehinde will also be honored.

He stated that the awardees are Africans and Americans who have excelled in various fields of endeavor.

The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 6th at Regal La Live, 1000 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015, USA.

“The award’s main focus is to support people who have demonstrated exceptional humanitarian excellence in a variety of fields,” he explained.

According to him, the Afro Awards has hosted and honored over 5,000 individuals at the forefront of humanitarianism and philanthropy in American and African communities since its inception.

Ade James (African Legendary Photographer; Humanitarian), Yinka Rythym (Musician; Philanthropist; Humanitarian), Charmaine Blake (Owner of Charmaine PR Firm), Kandias Conda (Owner of Celebrity Brand), and Madam Lara Okunnubi (Philanthropist/Humanitarian) are among those who have contributed.

The red carpet arrivals begin at 5:00pm, followed by the main event at 7:00pm and an after party at 10:00pm, according to the director.

Masika Kalysha, a VH1 Love & Hip Hop Star, will host this year’s event, he said.
