Pa Reuben Fasoranti, head of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere, has declared Chief Ayo Adebanjo to be the group’s interim leader.
He further stated that the group’s meetings will continue to be held in Chief Adebanjo’s country residence in Ogbo-ljebu, Ogun State.
Fasoranti’s statement is a complete slider turn from remarks attributed to him on Wednesday, in which he reportedly stated that Adebanjo was no longer Afenifere leader and that meetings of the group would now be held in Akure, following consultations with the Afenifere secretary and other leaders.
He was responding to media allegations that he and Chief Adebanjo had disagreed on the endorsement of two presidential candidates, Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
