Despite the verdict of Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which confirmed Dr. Uche Ogah as the party’s gubernatorial candidate yesterday, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abia State chapter, has stated that Chief Ikechi Emenike is still the party’s governorship candidate.
Mr. Vigilus Nwankwo, the Abia APC’s State Legal Adviser, stated that because the Court of Appeal had already affirmed Emenike as the validly chosen candidate of the Abia APC, the ruling of a lower court cannot change the status quo.
He noted that until the Supreme Court issues its final decision, the judgement given by Justice Binta Nyako declaring Dr. Uche Ogah as the governorship candidate cannot be implemented.
