Benkingsley Nwashara, a law graduate, took to Twitter to post images of a two-year-old child he rescued after her mentally-ill mother abandoned her in Agbani town, Nkanu West Local Government Area, Enugu State.
He posted images of the youngster he rescued, as well as a current snapshot of the two of them taken on Sunday.
In an interview on Saturday, Nwashara stated that he saw the child sitting helplessly on the street on June 15, while returning from a late-night party with some friends, and that when he inquired about the child, he was told that she belonged to a mentally-ill woman who lived in the area and had been there for several days with no food or water.
Sharing the latest update about the child’s welfare, he captioned the pictures,
