At the presidential debate at the Arise TV Town Hall, Nigerians present denied vice presidential candidates from speaking on behalf of presidential candidates.
In a video shared on Twitter, the participants could be heard claiming that the Peoples Democratic Party’s vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, would not be permitted to represent the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at the debate.
Mr Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party; Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party; and Kola Abiola, presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, were the only presidential candidate present at the debate.
Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party were both missing from the debate.
