Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri, fondly known as The Pride of Imo State, has taken a bold step towards strengthening its footballing structure with the appointment of Mobi Oparaku as Technical Director. This strategic move reflects the club’s unwavering commitment to long-term success and professional excellence in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
A revered figure in both Nigerian and international football, Mobi Oparaku brings an impressive wealth of experience to his new role.
A member of Nigeria’s historic Atlanta ‘96 Olympic gold-winning squad, Oparaku’s playing career spans across several notable clubs and national teams, including Iwuanyanwu Nationale, RSC Anderlecht, El Paso Patriots, Enyimba International, Nigeria’s U-17 and U-23 teams, and the Super Eagles.
In his new position, Oparaku will be tasked with leading the technical development of the club.
His responsibilities will include overseeing coaching staff development, introducing modern training techniques, and aligning the club’s footballing philosophy with international best practices. He will work closely with Sporting Director Ifeanyi Anaemena to coordinate scouting, player recruitment, and tactical planning.
