The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has refuted an alleged attack on the opposition Peoples Democratic Party’s state governorship candidate, Dr Dauda Lawal.
Yusuf Sani, APC Publicity Secretary, said that the PDP disregarded the executive order by continuing with their political campaigns despite the state’s high degree of insecurity.
It was previously reported that Lawal was reportedly attacked by APC-sponsored thugs during the PDP governorship campaign in the state’s Government Residential Area.
On Monday, the Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Mouktar Lugga, and Sani were featured in an interview with Channels Television to discuss the issues.
Sani said that PDP thugs assaulted and murdered 18 environmental workers. He further accused the PDP of being ‘insensitive’ to the people since they did not cease their campaign when other parties did.
Lugga replied by claiming that the APC has continued to utilize insecurity as a political tool while disregarding the association’s and the INEC’s constitutional rights.
