As the 2023 elections approaches, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, has spoken out against any form of violence.
He believes that if people were aware of the requirements and sacrifices involved in becoming leaders, they would be less eager to take on positions.

Ighodalo lamented that Nigerians are too passive, noting that stronger citizen engagement would improve politics and the entire society.
