Dr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has condemned the attack on the convoy of Omega Fire Ministries’ founder, Apostle Johnson Suleman, in Edo state.

On Monday, October 24th, he responded with a series of signed tweets.

“The recent attack on the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Suleman, highlights the level of insecurity in our nation,” it says.

“Ugly acts like these are reported from all over the country on a daily basis, and it is heartbreaking. Terrorism, violence, and criminality are all highly condemnable. The high level of insecurity that has persisted in our country has clogged the nation’s wheel of progress.”

“I reiterate my commitment to fighting insecurity as my first priority in governance if elected.”

“I am heartbroken by the loss of life during the attack. One life lost as a result of insecurity is one too many. I beseech God to grant the victims eternal peace. May God comfort the bereaved families as well.”

“I urge law enforcement to track down and prosecute the perpetrators of such crimes.”
