The newly sworn-in Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, urged politicians this weekend not to interfere with the judiciary’s powers as the 2023 elections near.
Ariwoola, who spoke at a banquet hosted by the Oyo State Government in his honour, also admonished the judges to leave politics to politicians.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State stated in his remarks that his administration has created an enabling climate for the judicial arm of government to carry out its constitutional tasks because it recognises that it is a beacon of hope for the ordinary man.
