Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday lashed out at his competitor in the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, as a clown qualified only for the position of “Grand Comedian of the Federal Republic.”

To avert additional embarrassment, Atiku encouraged APC to dismiss Tinubu soon following his unending hopeless gaffes.

Atiku addressed through his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu, in a statement. Shaibu stated this following a gaffe Tinubu allegedly committed on Saturday at a Lagos rally, where he mispronounced permanent voter cards (PVC) as APV.

According to the PDP candidate, Tinubu is only fit for the role of comic chief, not president of Nigeria, based on his erroneous comments, which indicate declining health.

In Kaduna State, Haruna Sa’eed, the director-general of the PDP campaign council, criticised Governor Nasir El- Rufai’s apology to the people as “meaningless” since it would not “change the misery and anguish he had imposed on the people.”

In the statement, Atiku stated that it was common knowledge that Tinubu made mistakes every time he spoke in public.

The statement went on to say that the APC’s seven and a half years in power were a dismal reminder of Nigeria’s stalled growth since they took office in 2015.
