According to the findings of a team of ten civil society organisations registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission and consultative partners from Plateau State voter register, a high proportion of underage voters, including children as young as five years old, were discovered.

The group proposed sanitising the court in order to limit the amount of overturned and re-run elections caused by political interference in the 2023 elections.

Following its fact-finding visit to Plateau State on November 23, 2022, the team submitted claims and objections to the national voter register.

Stafford Bisong, the team’s leader, who read the report to media in Abuja, asked Nigerians to go beyond voting and to watch post-election activities in order to support continuous accountability of the country’s public office holders.
